Bharwa Bhindi Recipe

Bhindi is the favorite vegetable of adults and kids. Bhindi also known as Okra in Maharashtra. Bhindi is cooked in many different styles cucuri bindi/chopped bhindi and bharwa bindi. Bharwa Bhindi is usually served with Chapati/Paratha/Poori.

Ingredients
  • 4 tbsp olive or refined oil
  • 500 gram Bhindi or ladyfinger or okra
  • 2 pieces onion paste
  • 2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp amchur or mango powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds (jeera)

Instructions
  1. Wash Bhindi Properly.

  2. Take one piece bhindi at a time and cut off the top and bottom point and cut a split lengthwise top to bottom, but do not split half.

  3. Take oil in the pan, add cumin seeds and saute it 30 seconds. now add onion paste and saute it 5 to 6 minutes or until they become glossy.

  4. Add coriander powder + Turmeric powder + Red chilli powder + Garam masala + Amchur + salt and mix it well.

  5. Let the masala cool down.

  6. Hold one bhindi in your hand. take half tablespoon masala and stuff in the bhindi properly and place them on a plate.

  7. All bhindis are stuffed.

  8. Heat oil in the kadhai add stuffed bhindi.

  9. Cover with the lid. Do not add any water because some vegetable cook on stem.

  10. Take a spatula and turn the bhindi carefully. Again cover the pan and cook on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until bhindi becomes cook.

  11. Bharwa Bhindi is ready.

Recipe Notes

If you do not eat the onions then stuffed the okras some spices + cornflour and gram flour.
