Chakali Namkeen Recipe

Chakli is one of the most famous Diwali snacks of Maharastra. Deep fried chakli is made with rice flour + Gram  flour.Chakli is prepared many different ways and using different types of pulses + flours.

Ingredients
  • 150 gram rice flour
  • 50 gram besan or gram flour
  • 1/2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 pinch Hinge or Asafoetida
  • 1/2 tbsp roasted cumin and carom powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 500 ml olive or refined oil for deep fry
Servings: pieces
Instructions
  1. Assemble all the ingredients.
  2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and knead a dough.
  3. Now take a chakali mould and put the roll into chakali mould and close it.
  4. Press the chakali mould and make the chakali.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
  6. Put few chakalies at a time.
  7. Deep fry the chakali both sides until they turn golden brown.
  8. Deep fried chakali is ready.
Recipe Notes

If your dough is too soft so you add more rice flour.
