Dahi Arbi Recipe

Today’s recipe is an easy and delicious mixture of Arbi or Taro Root in yoghurt based gravy. Arbi is very good for the digestive system, Taro Root is very high in vitamin C, and E. Dahi wali Arbi gravy  is a Spicy and sour. I am sure you will like to eat Dahi Arbi or Yogurt Taro Root Curry.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp olive or refined oil
  • 500 gram arbi or taro Root boiled
  • 1/2 tbsp ajwain or carom seeds
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp Yogurt or Dahi
  • 150 Ml Water
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp green coriander chopped
  • 1 pinch Hinge or Asafoetida

Instructions
  1. Take a bowl, Add yogurt + Water and mix it well, Mix yogurt properly using grinder or hand blender and keep aside. you can also purchase Chaach or Buttermilk as alternate.

  2. Wash and Boil Arbi or Taro Root in the pressure cooker, 2-3 pressure cooker whistle are more than enough to boil Arbi or Taro Root properly.

  3. Once boiled, cool and peel Arbi/Taro Root, cut in round shape and keep aside.

  4. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a kadhai, add carom/ajwain seeds + Hing/Asafoetida and saute for 30 sec.

  5. Add Boiled Arbi or Taro Root and saute for 1 min.

  6. When Arbi or Taro Root is fried properly, Add Turmeric Powder + Coriander Powder + Red Chilli Powder + Salt and mix it well.

  7. Now add the buttermilk or blended curd in the Arbi or Taro Root and stir it.
  8. Keep on stirring till it starts boiling (Do not stop stirring), now put the kadhai on low flame for 2-3 minutes.

  9. Add chopped green coriander, Dahi Arbi or Taro Root is ready, Serve it hot with Chapati or Roti.
