Dry Kala Channa Recipe

Dry Kala Chana is great Indian dish made with Black beans or Black chickpeas. Kala channa is also an excellent source of Protein and Iron. Kala chana or Black chickpeas can be used to make many dishes.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp olive or refined oil
  • 250 gram kala chana/black chickpeas
  • 1 piece onion chopped
  • 1 piece tomato chopped
  • 2 pieces green chilli chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tbsp red chilli
  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tbsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tbsp green coriander to garnish
  • 1 tbsp salt

Instructions
  1. 6-hour passive time is required to soak Kala chana before hand. if you planning to prepare for the morning breakfast then soak dry Kala chana overnight.

  2. Boiled the soaked chana, use the pressure cooker to boil. It requires 5-6 whistles on medium flame to boil Kala chana properly.

  3. Assemble all the ingredients.

  4. Heat the pan and add 2 tbsp oil, as soon heated add chopped green chilli + chopped onion and saute for 1-2 minutes to turn glossy.

  5. Add chopped tomato and saute for next 30 sec.

  6. Now add red chilli + garam masala + turmeric + coriander powder + salt and stir for 2 minutes on medium flame.

  7. Add boiled Kala chana and stir for 1-2 minutes.

  8. Take out in plate or bowl and serve it hot with onion and lemon.
