Gatte Ki Sabzi Recipe

Gatte sabzi is an authentic dish of the Rajasthan. Gatte means cooked gram flour dumpling. Gatte sabzi is served with Rice/Chapati.

Ingredients
  • 6 tbsp olive or refined oil
  • 250 gram besan or gram flour
  • 2 pieces onion puree
  • 2 pieces tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1 tbsp Dry red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 125 ml fresh cream/malai
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2-3 pieces green chilli
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds (jeera)

Instructions
  1. Take a bowl add besan + 3 tablespoon oil and combine all the ingredients.

  2. Add some water and knead a dough.Mix it well and make a smooth dough.

  3. Grease your hands, take some mixture of the dough and roll it cylinder shape.

  4. Take a pan and boil the water.
  5. When water starts boiling, add the gatte and boil it for 4-5 minutes.

  6. After 4-5 minutes gatte will swim as shown. Gatte is ready, remove it with the spoon, and keep aside to cool down.

  7. When gatte is cool down, cut them into small pieces using knife.

  8. Heat 3 tablespoon oil in a kadhai, add cumin seeds and saute 30 seconds.

  9. Add garlic + ginger paste + onion puree and saute 2-3 minutes.

  10. Add tomato puree + spices + malai and saute 3-4 minutes.

  11. Once oil starts to separate from the masal, add gatte and mix it well.

  12. When mix gatte properly in the masala, add the water and boil it for 2-3 minutes.

  13. Besan gatte curry sabzi is ready.

Gatte sabzi is ready, Serve it with Rice/Chapati/Roti.
