Masala Arbi Recipe

Dry Arbi or Taro Root is very common dish, specially dry Arbi. There are two ways to prepare Dry Masala Arbi, firts is after Boiling and second without boiling. here i am going to prepare Masala Arbi/Taro Root after boiling.

Ingredients
  • 5 tbsp olive or refined oil
  • 500 gram arbi or taro Root boiled
  • 1/2 tbsp ajwain or carom seeds
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp amchur or mango powder
  • 1/2 tbsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp green coriander chopped
  • 1 pinch Hinge or Asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp besna or gram flour

Instructions
  1. Wash and Boil arbi/taro Root in the pressure cooker. 2-3 pressure cooker wishels are more than enough to boil arbi/taro Root properly.

  2. once boiled, cool and peel arbi/taro root, cut than in long slices and keep aside.

  3. Heat the deep pan/kadhai and add 5 tbsp oil, as soon oil heats drop carom/ajwain seeds and Hinge/Asafoetida and saute for 30 sec.

  4. Add boiled taro root/arbi and saute for 3 mins on medium flame. Monitored color of arbi and saute until turns glossy.

  5. Now add besna or gram flour + garam masala + amchur or mango powder + red chilli powder + coriander powder + turmeric powder + salt and sute for 1 minute.
  6. Dry Arbi is Ready

Serve it hot with chapati or parata..
