Palak Kadhi Recipe

Palak Kadhi is sour  in the taste, basic ingredients used to prepare are Besan and yogurt. Palak is normally not liked by children but if you prepare Palak Kadhi then your children will surely like it.

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp olive or refined oil
  • 250 gram palak or spnich
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 pinch Hinge or Asafoetida
  • 250 ml sour butter milk
  • 4 tbsp besan or gram flour
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp methi seeds
  • 1 tbsp salt

Instructions
  1. Wash and chop the Palak/Spinach properly
  2. Allow pan to heat and add oil.
  3. Add cumin seeds, methi seeds, asafoetida and saute it on high flame.
  4. Add chopped palak and mix it well.
  5. Now cover the pan with the lid for next 5 minutes on low flame.
  6. Now add water to Gram flour to make a thin paste. add more water to dilute the paste.
  7. After 5 minutes pour the buttermilk, Gram flour mixture, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt in the pan with Palak/Spinach.
  8. Now it is very important that you start mixing the Palak Kadhi gently. switch the flame in high mode and keep mixing.
  9. Kadhi is boiling. Now leave it on low flame next 20 minutes. Keep stir in between.
  10. After 20 minutes Kadhi is ready, add chopped green coriander and mix it well.
