Rava Dhokla-Sooji Ka Dhokla

Rava/Sooji dhokla is instant recipe, Rava/Sooji dhokla is a very popular in Gujarat, There is no need of fermentation, you can make it easily at home in few minutes. It is ideal dish for morning breakfast or evening tea time, you can also serve in lunch or dinner.

You can serve this with green chutney or tomato ketchup. It is very light and healthy recipe. The light and healty dhokla is liked by every one. Whenever i make this at home, I use to serve this with Sambhar becaue my little champs like it with sambhar. So let’s get started with this awesome rava dhokla recipe/suji ka dhokla.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Samolina
  • 4 tbs oil
  • 2 tbsp Curd
  • 1/2 tbsp Eno Powder
  • 1 tbsp salt 1
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 pice Chopped Green Chili
  • 2 tbsp chopped green coriander

Instructions
  1. Assemble all the ingredients properly.
  2. Now take a mixing bowl add semolina, curd, sugar, salt, and add little amount of water make a smooth paste.
  3. The paste is not too thick or not to thin, set this batter for 15 minutes.
  4. After 15 minutes, Check the dhokla batter, If Batter is thick then you can add around half cup water and mix it well. The ideal batter should be loose enough.

  5. For steamer, switch on the flame and add 1 &1/2 cup water in pot/pan, put the stand on it and cover the pot for 5 minutes on high flame or until water boils.
  6. Now add the Eno and mix it well.

  7. Grease the tin with oil properly and then pour the batter in it.
  8. Place the tin in the steamer and cover the pot.
  9. Now you have wait for next 20 minutes. Cook rava dhokla for 20 minutes at low flame.
  10. After 20 minutes now check the Rava Dhokla. Take a knife/toothpick, Insert into the rava dhokla, If your toothpick/knife come out clean? if yes then dhokla is ready. switch off the flame now and allow rava dhokla to cool in room temperature.

  11. Remove the dhokla from pan in serving plate.
  12. For tempering , take a small pan on low medium flame.
  13. Add 1 tbsp oil in it then add mustered seeds + chopped green chili and allow mustered seeds to crackle. This is good sign that tempering is also ready.
  14. Now pour the hot tempering mixture directly over the rava dhokla and also garnish with chopped green coriander. Slice the rava dhokla and serve as you like hot or cool.
Recipe Notes

Rava dhokla is ready, Serve it with tomato ketchup/green chutney and sambhar.
